Scatter-brained thoughts…

I think it’s important to get rid of the people in your life who bring you down, or bring out your worst. Life is too short to waste time on anyone who isn’t good for you. It’s better to focus on the few people in your life who bring out your absolute best, than to dwell on anyone who may disappoint you in their selfishness and malicious nature.

But at what point do you stop ridding these type of people from your life? At one point do you continue to give these people another chance. People will always disappoint you. If you get rid of every person who does so, will anyone be left? Is it better to have people in your life who may disappoint you, but also have the ability to make you happy, than to be alone?

I need to get to the point where I stop pushing people out of my life. I need to love and appreciate people for the happiness they bring me, and just accept it when people occasionally disappoint or hurt me. But after typing that, it seems like that would be settling. Shouldn’t I only accept the best for myself? But If I sit here waiting for the best, then the best is destined to pass me by…
